Swap anyone?
« on: 05 Oct 2011 at 01:54 »
Anyone with a pre-war Douglas going spare, fancy aquiring a 350cc Rudge in exchange? I bought this machine at the beginning of the year with the intention of carrying out a rolling restoration. I have it on the road now with MOT etc, its great fun to ride but I'm a bit daunted by its complexity as I'm not endowed with much in the way of workshop equipment or skills.

Anything considered as a swap, but preferably at least 350cc and 1930's. Doesnt even have to be a Douglas.

Oh. If only you lived in Australia. I would swap my 2&3/4 in a flash.

Pah! A 350 Rudge wouldn't hold a candle to a good 2 3/4!

Yes and mine averages speeds well above most 2&3/4s. Usually because its on the breakdown trailer 8.. (

Erm.... something that doesnt conk out regularly is my heart's desire. I have a triumph TRW that's bombproof and I ride that to work. Maybe that's part of the reason I'm a fan of sidevalve twins.
