My Avatar shows me riding a Mk5 in a BMCRC Production race at snetterton in the mid 1960's my normal mount a 1952 Vincent Rapide had expired the week before at a Bantam meeting after showing a clean pair of heels to the 'modern' production bikes there with 132 mph in the speed trap. Needless to say the poor old ride to work Duggie pressed into service to 'give me a ride' the next week end at the same track came last, and the following weekend the entire barrel blew off going up a hill into the chilterns, it stayed on the con-rod so I rode it home as a 175.
Ah the rashness of youth...
