Come on Dougie, give us half a chance, give us some idea of the symptoms - after all, our area of expertise is supposed to be 'Douglas', not mind reading.

Hi Dougie, this sounds more like a gearbox problem.
Can you select gears by rocking the bike backwards and forwards? or does it always feel like it's in neutral?

Dougie,
The only time I had problems with a jamming kickstart, I found that the kickstart gear had split (out from the keyway) and was being wedged open by the key, causing it to jam against the mating gear.
Regarding the clutch suddenly going out of adjustment - there are 2 ways of adjusting it. There is the normal fine adjustment on the cable, and there is a coarser adjustment by altering the position of the operating lever inside the bellhousing. This lever is held by a clamp bolt which may have come loose allowing the adjustment to drop away suddenly.
                                 Regards,
                                            Eddie.

Doug,
If your engine has been running for any length of time with the flywheel loose, the taper on the crank and the bore of the flywheel will have fretted. Also the slot for the key may have a burr on it, causing the flywheel to run out of true.
Try removing any burrs and then lap in the taper with fine grinding paste. with a bit of luck, the original flywheel will be recoverable. When refitting the flywheel, do the nut up as tight as possible. If the split pin hole does not line up - leave the split pin out - do not back off the nut to get the split pin in - this will only result in the flywheel coming loose again.
                                  Regards,
                                                Eddie.
