S6 cams
« on: 04 Apr 2007 at 16:06 »
I am rebuilding a 1930 S6 from a pile of rusty junk. and now have reached the engine.  Question.  The inlet and exhaust cams are different.  As taken to pieces the inlet is "peakier" than the exhaust which also occupies more of the cam rotation.

Is this correct?

Yes this is correct. The exhaust cam normally has a longer duration than the inlet for any engine. I've also just put my S6 back together and can confirm that it holds true for this engine too!
