Hi can anybody help wanted clutch thrust bearing does anyone have a used or new
Or have any part numbers or bearing numbers
For 1926/7 ew Douglas
Regards Johnb

Doug

It is not a commercial bearing, Douglas manufactured them in house.

Many folk substitute a plain thrust bearing made out of oil impregnated sintered bronze (Oilite). Advantageous if the surfaces the original bearing balls ran against are pitted and provides a bit of braking effect if the clutch has a tendency to drag on release.

Hi Yes, Simply bearings sell a needle thrust race that will fit straight in.

Hi  alan you wouldn't have a bearing number by any chance but thanks for the information

Yes,  the S6 size is 60 X 85 X 5 needle roller
and the EW I think is 50 X 70 X 5 but both bearings are thinner than the original and
will need a thicker backing washer.
the needle bearing ref is AXK6085ASand AXK5070AS

Any doubts give me a ring 01342-834133 Alan

I have just refurbished my flywheel cluch on my B29 and note with interest the comments regarding the thrust bearing versus the sintered bronze thrust washer.
As my actuating arm is worn where the balls of the thrust bearing have run I am leaning towards the sintered bronze washer.
Doug would you make the width of the thrust washer the distance between end of the flywheel boss and the crankshaft minus at least 1/16"? Or would you use a metal spacer washer adjacent to the flywheel boss and then the thrust washer?
The manual states a minimum of 1/16"clearance, from experience what clearance would you recommend as 1/16" seems tight to me.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
