well!! hers the next problem! checking the side wobble on the timing side crankshaft I found it wobbled badly, checking the crank I found one of the big end bolts loose, the 3 locating pins loose as well, very near to a complete disaster!!, all because the bolt wasn't tight and the locking tab washer had been reused with one tab broken off allowing the bolt to undo!! a lesson to us all, that's what tab washers are for!, regards david

Hello David,

I use on important connections alway "Loctite".
So it is safe, even (also) without lockwasher.

thank you Michael, at present I am having the web metal sprayed where its fretted and bored 1-1.1/2 thou undersized to the crankpin, so it will be interference fit, then spark ersion to the pin holes, oversized, and pins made to suit!, loctite  definitely on the bolt instead of lock washers, as they were 70 years ago! david
