will a ew 600cc engine fit in a 350 frame

Hello Joe,  In a single word no. The motor will be too long. The 600 motor sits on two lower rails, and the 350 sits on a single rail with lugs. To be honest the EW frame was made of such a light manufacture for registration purposes it really wasnt up to scratch for the power and weight of the 350 motor. You only have to look at the frame alignment at the footbrake pivot. I have had a lot of EW frames and have never seen one where the rear chain hasn't misaligned the rear frame triangle.

 On the other hand I must point out nothing is impossible I have successfully grafted a 4 hp 600 cc into a CW 350 frame using the CW wheels and gearbox. I will feature this with pics in the near future. Why we do these things is because we can. Another hybrid I have produced is a 600 stationary motor and Norton 4 speed box into a modified 1930 T6 frame.    regards Alan

As Alan says, the engine is too long for the space in the frame; by a full three inches too long. Add to that the fact the 600 mounted on tubes in a duplex frame, and the 350 on a platform mount (only two bolts!) in a single loop frame, and you would have to do some major butchery to make it fit. Please don't.
