The www.speedwayresearcher.org.uk has race by race data for meetings staged at Marine Gardens in Edinburgh 1928 - 31 and 1938-39. The results from the early days indicate the bikes used by riders.

Robert Bamford - Speedway Books - has copies of Glasgow's Speedways: The Pre-War Years by Jim Henry  which covers 1928 - 1932 and 1939 - 40 which also gives meeting details including machines used by riders in the pioneer days.

The Douglas reigned 1928 - 1929 but by 1930 it was on the way out as tracks became slicker. A few were used after 1930.

The Men in Black who put on demonstrations on speedways in the UK show and ride a few Douglas machines. They take part in the main BMF rallies at Peterborough in May and September.
