Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Thanks all for the wealth of information. Looks like mine is probably late 30s style or as you say early 40s vintage.

Will have a look for any other numbers or stamping.

A chap has contacted me through seeing this forum and I believe he has the small industrial truck without an engine.

Based in Brisbane Australia, I would be happy to swap for a 1927 EW350 Motorcycle Engine to finish my project.

Regards

Chris.

I have been in contact with the London Douglas club and I can get valve springs from them.

Do you look for springs for a T35 MK1 or later models?

General Douglas Discussion / Re: Gearbox issues Z1 750

Hello again Eddie,
Today I set up the starter ratches and ground an undercut on the mating surfaces.  I am not sure of the angle, it's about 5 degrees. Here are a few photographs for information and comment.  I will fit them back into the bike later this week and see if it eliminates the jumping out of mesh.  Thanks for the advice. I would welcome your comments. It would still be nice to find a spare set of these. The rachet which is part of the pinion gear would be especially desirable because it would be hard to make. The other one would be easy.  If it fixes the hand change bike I will do the same for the foot change bike. It has a similar problem although not a bad.

Cheers

If you never solved your motor issue and still want one then I have one as per the previous photo. 1930s vintage minus carb and magneto.
