Finally finally I have got a chance to look at the 26 EW. Years ago Eddie said 'look at your valve guides' but suffering from too many bikes the EW soldiered on with an occasional outing till it failed to get my wife up kop hill 2 years ago.
the guides are worn in fact it was the coke in the front Inlet port that sapped the power completely! never seen anything like it. I can get new guides I suppose from the club but when it comes to recutting the seats do I send it away? or do it myself? there used to be sources for individual grinding stones but now only expensive car sets and most of those are 45 degrees (I am not certain what the EW seat angle is -30? I can turn up a suitable pilot to suit.
