Title: Springs for the bumpers of a 1928 Douglas SW 05 wanted
Post by: Lilith9 on 19 Sep 2016 at 13:45
Hello everybody,

I am looking for a set of four new spare springs for the bumpers of a 1928 Douglas SW 05 for a gentleman in Germany who doesn't speak any English.
He is also looking for valve springs for that bike.

Please get back to me in case you know of any that can be shipped to Germany.

Thank you very much, all the best,
Melanie

Hello Melanie,

If by "springs for the bumpers" you mean the auxiliary springs on the pushrods, these are the same part number as the inner springs for the 350EW Douglas side valve. If you are a member of the LDMCC, the club spare might have these new.

There were two styles used for the EW, and so for the DT/SW.

I am pretty sure the earlier spring was barrel shaped. The later style was conical (see image). Of course, you will be limited to whatever style the Club has made.

The LDMCC Spares also has new valve springs. I had a batch of new valves commissioned, advert here:
