Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

can reline Douglas expanding band brakes and flywheel clutches. They know what they are doing and seem able to offer sound advice.

I have no connection with this, or any other, company I have listed. They did a good job for me, but I cannot be held responsible for any work they may do as a result of this post.

I'd second this. Saftek did my expanding band brakes and they did a superb job for a reasonable price. Also they turned around the job within 24 hours and the bands had been cleaned up and looked like new.

Considering the number of cowboys who make money out of the old bike crowd (don't get me started!) these people offer an outstanding service.

I first used Saftek several years ago for the brake linings for my Endeavour and have since passed on the details of their service to many other members. I was very impressed as they instructed me to send the bands untouched, oily, rusty and with several separate pieces of lining riveted on. They came back a few days later having been shot blasted, painted and with new 25" x 1" one piece linings as original and the cost was literally half of what I had been quoted elsewhere.  Needless to say I have no connection with the firm apart from having availed myself of their services yet again for my Douglas Bantam brakes. I have no hesitation further recommending them.   Chris.

Saftek are just down the road from me.
They do a great job, fast and with no messing.
I had 8 clutch plates done with them a while ago ranging from EW, B29, MK and plus.
It worked out very cheap for the batch and they had them back, blasted and in great condition in a very speedy mannor.
For brake linings, they will only bond them, not rivet in the traditional fashion.
They will bang some rivets in for comfort factor should you require.

Bonding should be OK, but of course if it let's go, you are having your last rights read!

Good guys, great company and right on for the money.
Been there, seen them/their works and they are the real deal.

Just had a brake band relined by those Saftek chaps for my EW. Superb job and fast as well. Cannot recommend highly enough.
