EW350 Decompression Lever
« on: 18 Aug 2020 at 21:28 »
Hi All, here is my latest question about the EW!
I have managed to source the first decompression lever in the timing chest which was missing from the engine when I dismantled it.  I'm a little confused as to how the cable from the handlebar decompression cable connects with the lever in the timing chest.  I was expecting a forked end that a standard cable nipple would slot into but there is no slot in the end of the lever for the cable.  I would be very grateful for any pointers on how the cable connects to the lever (picture attached).
Thanks in advance.

Good question.
I've been in there, not recently, and the detail eludes me !

A previous discussion here has pics of the timing cheat

but the answer is not immediately obvious - to me.
Does the bulbous end of the cable just go the other side of the arm,
and the cable underneath can't pull out ?

In the picture referred to by Ron, it looks to my totally untrained eye, to be a rod with a hook on the end of it.
Is there a connection inside the insert in the cover?
