my t35 mark1 had a top speed of about 70mph where the mark 3 1949 had a top speed of 100mph , basically what did they do for the extra speed

seriously ,was it in motor upgrades or in the gearbox , and if in the motor what changes as iv a spare empty set of motor cases and barrels

I was being serious!! A good Mark 3 will do about 80mph. Mr Douglas wouldn't have gone to the bother of building the 'Plus' models if the standard road models were capable of out-performing them!

Nearest I got was around 75mph but conditions were right (and it was on closed roads downhill towards creg ne baa)
As for stopping - I didnt - turned left and into a side road  :roll:

The whole range of 350s (except the plus models) had similar performance on about 18hp. Top whack on period road test about 78mph; from memory.

Looks like I've got a rose tinted memory Roy. I've just checked a test of a 1950 mk 3 and that's only 70mph top speed.

opps , seems i got mixed up with the plus models , was talking to one old bloke who said got up to 100mph at eastern creek raceway during a vintage bike race (hes passed on now so cant get any more info) but still intrested in uping the performance (while keeping relibility) when rebuilding the extra motor , any suggestings would be great
