Dragonfly intake tube O Rings
« on: 04 Jun 2020 at 23:22 »
What are people using for intake tube O Rings on Dragonfly? Is there a known size to get? I have the old ones, but I'm sure they are not the same size as when they were new, and an intake leak at this point would be disastrous.
Is it better to use viton?

I just got my tubes back from the chrome shop, and the alloy collars are all cleaned up and ready to go.

Thank you in advance,
Kev

Hi Kev,
I don't know the exact size of the 'O' rings, but I do remember that the ring at the gearbox end was a standard nitrile ring and the one at the cylinder head end was a viton ring. If you have had your intake pipes stripped, polished and re-chromed, you may find they are a little undersize, so to get a good seal, it may pay to experiment with rings of a slightly larger section - or slightly larger diameter rings and squeeze them into the available space.

  Regards,
                 Eddie.
