oil feed to crankshaft
« on: 14 Nov 2017 at 21:10 »
Hi ,
I am in the process of restoring a 1926 Douglas EW 350cc. The engine had been partly disassembled when i bought the bike. My question is in regards to the connection between the oil pump outlet to the crankshaft through the drive coupling. I think that I am missing some sort of hollow piston witch will allow positive seal onto the crankshaft end.( possibly spring loaded ). The oil pump is the plunger type.
Is there any body in the club that can help me with this issue , possibly a drawing of the item , so that I can make one.

I have the Care & maintenance manual for Douglas Models 350cc 1926-1930 and the Running Instructions for EW model Douglas.
Non of these manuals show this connection for the plunger oil pump. I have been looking for an illustrated spare parts manual on the net , but have to date not found one.

My Douglas :  ? 1926 EW 350cc
Chassis No. : MF 16610
Engine No.  : YE 14179
Gearbox No.: RG\C15903  ( K712 )

Hi Morten hope these are some use to you .The flat on the quill allows a small steel pin in the nut to hold the quill from coming out and all so stops it turning. If youneed any more help please feel free to contact me. Ken
