William Douglas (Bristol) Ltd collapsed in 1935. They were bought out by the British Aircraft Co., which reorganized Douglas to be Aero Angines Ltd. on June 7th. The plan was to phase out motorcycle production and manufacture Hispano Suiza aircraft engines under license. The war did not happen as early as planned, so motorcycle production continued, at a much smaller volume than previously.
The decal would post date the B29 by six years.
