Andre Steering damper on SW5
« on: 26 Oct 2010 at 17:44 »
Hello All. I hate to keep up a tirade of questions but there seems such a wealth of info out there it is very tempting !
Most pictures I have seen of DT and SW models show a large plated wing-nut as the adjuster on the Andre steering damper; mine however sports a round 3" dia. black probably Bakelite one. It has a brass, moulded in, female threaded insert. It has the words "Andre Steering Damper" then in smaller letters "patented in all countries"
so is this also correct for a 1929 tall air-box model ? Thanks in anticipation. BARRYM.
