EW 350 gearbox agajn

When I striped my gbox I found a spring about 1" long ih botom of box. is tfis the detent spring? and should there also be a ball bearing on the end as I did not find one,By the way I found an SKF6203 a good replacement fo the bearings in this box.

why was it jumping out of gear

No a bearing broke up and i am rebuilding but need to know about the detent system.

Still dont know what goes on end of detent spring.

its a standard RG3459 box.

Sorry for the delay the box I have is a RG/H and I’ve attached photos of what mine has for the detent if it’s the same as mine and in the gear onto the shaft though my spring could be short.
