MK cam pinion extractor
« on: 05 Aug 2020 at 11:22 »
Before I start reinventing the wheel has anyone a drawing of the camshaft pinion extractor or (long shot) if they are available?
I guess the two threaded puller holes are 1/4" BSF mine are choked with burnt oil so I will have to run a tap down them.

Well i did reinvent the wheel in fact I used the same extractor as the flywheel with long allen cap screws and heat
I did make a small alloy plug with a small diameter to fit the 3/8 BSF center screw core diameter and a larger diameter .600" to fit inside  the pinion spindle bore, this was to take the pressure of the large extractor screw. hopefully that is the last of the struggles to strip this engine that must have been assembled by a gorillia.
Now to decide who can sort my crankshaft (assuming I can get it out :-0)

Hi tck
I am very pleased to hear you have made good progress with your engine, now you have passed your test, I can recommend
Alpha Bearings Ltd, Dudley. 01384 255151 they did a great job on my crank refurbish two years ago, I just hope they are
              still in business.  Regards. Phil.
