chromium plating required
« on: 15 Sep 2016 at 14:03 »
Hello, Having nearly completed a rebuild of my MK3 I thought I would replace the exhaust pipes with new ones, however this has not been a simple task as I cannot get new short pipes that fit the waffle box anywhere. I tried Armstrongs but they have none in stock and are unable to say if they will have another run on these pipes. I therefore have little choice but to get the originals replated, can anyone recommend a plating company? Many Thanks Terry

Terry,

Recently had some plating done by C E Designs, Shorncliffe, Folkestone, Kent. Check out their website. Very good quality and service, all done through the phone and post. You would have to give any potential platers a ring as (I'm sure you know) many won't handle exhaust components.

Terry,
Technical Tubes at Three Legged Cross in Dorset used to have patterns for the pipes for waffle box silencers. When we were buying them for Club spares, they offered the option of mild or stainless steel.
