Dragonfly suspension
« on: 04 Sep 2016 at 11:22 »
Trying to sort out my D/fly. Work I should have done years ago. After four strip and rebuilds still have crash/crunch gearbox. Decided I'll have to live with it.
I'm now trying to sort out 'wobbly' steering when cornering, and have realised that  my front and rear suspension units are all same lengths at 13 inch centres.  I'm sure I remember front units being longer than rear.  Can anyone confirm, and if so supply correct measurements.  Thanks, Dave.

Dave,
The rear units should be 12.9" long, and the fronts 13.9"long. The rear springs were rated at 110 lbs and the fronts 54 lbs. The standard units on the Dragonfly were early type Girlings - modern so called equivalents tend to have stiffer damping that ruins the soft ride of the originals.

  Regards,
               Eddie.

Sorry Eddie, just an afterthought.  I presume measurements are taken from centre of fixing bolt eyes?  Regards Dave.
