1949 douglas mk3 wheels and petrol tank.

Hello as a new member and the now owner of a 1949 Mk3 which will in the near future be under renovation I have a question relating to the wheel finish. I am led to believe there were two options (1) Chrome (2) Silver painted with the raised section being painted Douglas Royal Blue with a white separation line. Is the second option correct? Also was he tank Black and Douglas Royal Blue only or were there Chrome Strips on the tank? Many Thanks

Hello,
I'm working on the restoration of my 1949 Mk3 Standard. The bike is in Argentina as many other Mk3's. The image shows the tank as exactly it looked when I stripped the paint under 2 or 3 coats of black over 50 years.
As far as I know there a discussion about what colour was the stripes on wheels and tank. Some say it was white and others say it was a mixed option.
