Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Got a pre-1919 Douglas? Or maybe a lesser machine "of the era"?

Nuriootpa in South Australia's fabled Barossa Valley will be the place to be for a glorious week of veteran motorcycling in September 2017.

Fairy owners may be interested in the inaugural TAT Run - for genuinely feeble or essentially powerless veterans - to be held during the rally.

All details at the website: http://vvmccsa.org.au/nvr

Can't wait - unfortunately will be on lesser machines though as I don't have a veteran Douglas. Kevin will be there with his 3.5

Bobsteel

I have entered my 1914 Douglas model W 2 3/4 hp Robertybob

The Model W a gorgeous bike Bob, and should be just the thing for the rally. Lots of lovely quiet roads and only 100 km per day.

The good news is you won't be alone!

No, but it will be coming along to the rally. We're expecting 100 pre-1919 bikes and it wouldn't surprise if 10 of them were Douglases.

After a difficult rebirth I did get my 1910 FN single running last week, so hopefully it will get a run in September.

Are you Rudging Ian?

Leon

Ian

Yes - but I will also bring the Peerless and Triumph. Kevin will bring his 1914 Doug and is looking for another bike prior to the rally

Entries are coming in, and there will be a number of Douglases attending. On the weekend I spoke with a guy in Tasmania who has borrowed a 1914 Douglas from a friend from Western Australia to ride in the Rally in South Australia. If you're in Europe have a look at that on google maps, and marvel at the distances!

If anyone is hoping to take advantage of the bus, they should enter soon as it is filling fast.

See you there! http://vvmccsa.org.au/nvr

Six weeks before the rally we have 135 veteran bikes entered, including a small army of Douglases. We'll take late entries up until the end of this month, so if you have an eligible Douglas, Fairy or other machine it's not too late to join us.

One entrant is planning to bring along a De Dion Bouton tricycle for our special run for feebles...
