1925 Douglas Value
« on: 19 Nov 2004 at 15:55 »
Can someone tell me what fair market value is for a 1925 Douglas 2 3/4hp motorcycle that has been fully restored, cosmetically and mechanically?  Bike includes the correct leather saddlebags.

Or, can you point me to a resource where I can research its current value?

Thanks!

Hi 'montanajon'
Don't know from what part of the world you write but assume the US - your's is a difficult question to which I have previously answered that they 'are worth as much as the vendor can get', but that's not much help! - can say that a similar model sold in Victoria, Australia recently for $A 5500 but can't comment on condition save that it "looked reasonable and was a goer" passed on by a friend who saw it? Interestingly, the reverse cover of the October "Classic Motorcycles" illustrates four exceptional Douglas bikes advertised at prices ranging 18000 up to 35000 pounds sterling.

1925 Douglas 2 3/4hp Value
I am in the USA.
The range of prices provided in the last posting were interesting...but quite broad!

I hope that, in the apparent absence of formal values for Douglas, someone in this group can provide recent listing or sale prices for this specific 1925 2 3/4hp model in excellent, restored condition.  Thanks!!
