Hi All,
As can be seen from the photo, my 'Fly is (externally) in standard trim except for the twin carbs. These were originally fitted by me about thirty years ago, having had a 'near incident' on the way home from an LDMCC club meeting. At night - on a long unlit downhill dual carriageway - doing about 70mph - the carb froze up on full throttle. Ever tried killing the ignition? - it gets exciting - you have to turn the lights off as well!! (all on one switch). Since then the bike's had twin carbs - and no more problems with icing up.
Also - the chrome rims, crashbars and rear carrier are extras that were listed in 1955. The headlight peak is an after- market accessory which just helps to keep the headlamp's dull glow heading towards the road!
                                          Eddie.
