Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Petrol tank cap wanted for SW5. It has two internal clips, and is held together by 3 rivets.
Does anyone have one please?
Thanks,
Roger, UK

EW-Ron

If this is 2", then it is likely to be the same as for a 1920s EW.
Chrome plating may set it apart however. ?

After more years of looking than I care to recount, some BSA's have the same construction,
and the oil tank caps on an Austin 7 are also a fit. The latter are available new.

However, the rivet count may be different.
Important if you are a rivet counter !
(thought I'd never get to use that line)
And the BSA ones say BSA....

This subject has been covered here, many times if ye search carefully.
Beats me why the Club didn't have a batch made - the demand is certainly there.
Hopethishelpsabit.

Thanks for the info Ron,
I'll talk to my BSA buddies.
I'm half way through repairing the existing cap, badly dented. I've removed the rivets, knocked out the dents, made a new leather spacer and now awaiting e bay to deliver some 1/16 dome head rivets!
Best wishes,
Roger
