Dragonfly identification
« on: 03 Jun 2012 at 09:28 »
Hello,
Can anybody shed any light on what the registration number once was for my father in laws 1956 Dragonfly.
The number we have 205 UXR is not recognized by the DVLA (helpful as usual).
The chassis number is 1157/6.
Any information about this bike would be very welcome.
Many thanks
Chris

Hi
The information from the LDMCC Machine Register for 1957 D'Fly with frame No 1157/6 is that the registration associated with that machine is UJJ 202. Chris.

Hi Chris,
The other Chris is quite correct with the number that we have on record! You do not mention if you have any paperwork to support the number you have, it does not appear to be an age related one suggesting that it has never been re registered. Is it possible that the number you have did not originate on the bike!!?
I suggest you contact the Club registrar Len Boydell and outline your problem, he may be able to throw some light, in any case, if necessary he can organise registering the bike with an age related number.
Len's email is douglasregistrar@talktalk.net
Cheers
Dave L

Thank you both for your help.
My father in law has been in touch with Len.
Best regards
Chris
