Hi
Just asking for advice on the following please.

1) When replacing the corks in the petrol taps do they require any conditioning first?
2) Can rubber O rings be used too?
3) What washer is best to use for the petrol tap that goes into the fuel tank please.

Corks are normally boiled up first - in boiling water obviously.
This makes them soft and squishy - and easily able to be worked into place.

Soap is an excellent lubricant, and somewhat resistant to petrol.
Good seal material on tap threads.
Work it into a paste from the bar 1st ...

The petrol tap into the tank likely had one of those red fibre washers on it.
Its probably best to include one still.
It evens out any 'unsquareness' in the seat.

Modern ones tend to be harder than the earlier ones, watch that this doesn't cause more problems than it solves ?
