brown and barlow carbs

 after ideas and where to locate parts for brown and barlow carbs , mates after a needle and seat plus the float for the 1926 ew 350 carb , just off chance will any of these parts inter change with the later amal carbs (after all this was back in the days of using common parts) he would join here but hes only working on this bike as its part of a collection at a historical village here in qld ,its herberton historical village , with a large collection of working pre 1945 cars / bikes / steam engines etc plus about 50 buildings all outfitted in original furniture etc , this is the only douglas they have at the moment , hope this isnt against club rules but thought better to give a better understanding of the situation

thanks dave ,just also to mention that almost all the restoration and maintenance including this douglas is done by non paid volenteers but im not one just trying to help out it being a douglas

Hi Flea,

Need to know if the float chamber is top or bottom feed, as per the diagram below, since the needle arrangement is different. I think in both cases the seat is integral with the carb, either in the lid or the bowl.

If you let us know the inside diameter of the float bowl I'll have a look in the shed.

My EW350 has bottom feed, with tickler on top.
Which may not apply to all ...

Have noted the historical village in Herberton, must visit some time.
Famous tin-mining area too.

hi ron is yours the 350 ew if so thats good to know , yep the village is incredible , especially since almost all the buildings were moved and put up by 1 bloke over many many yrs , most are from the local area and a lot from the tin mining fields here , well worth a visit but you really need a couple of days to do it justice
