Does anyone sell the valve lifter cable ?
It has a screwed end on it, to screw onto the rod ?

Come to that, what does the handlebar lever and perch look like ?
Are these available anyplace also.

They used the inverted lever on the left-hand side. So same as the brake lever. Originally manufactured by Bowden. I have see repros of the longer inverted levers, but not the shorter type used by Douglas.

Sounds like miss-appropriation of levers... The used this clamp on lever (though not as pitted), also supplied by Bowden, for the clutch.

Or that is the arrangement shown in the handbook for control layout.

I'll have to find the handbook - my memory is getting a bit foggy...
I've seen that lever set up as the valve lifter.

The inverted one does seem comfortable for the clutch
- "falls easily to hand" was the description in magazine tests of old.

Open lever is for clutch on the B29, at least.

The specific Bowden lever shown in Doug's post is a little unusual, but they are around. The repro levers in your link are probably made by Chas Lipscombe here in Australia.

Thanks Leon. I couldn't readily locate my handbook to check those details.

That clutch lever reach still looks a little awkward.
Might retain the present setup until I've tried it at least.
Which may still be a way off, given the pace of locating missing bits ..
