Dragonfly ODF 665, where are you?
« on: 29 Nov 2020 at 19:28 »
Amy Bingham of Devon, UK sent in the following query:

Hello, I am sorry to trouble you but I am hoping you might be able to help.

My dad, for as long as I can remember, has been trying to track down his beloved Douglas Dragonfly.

It was a 1954 (not a 55, as I understand it was an earlier prototype) primarily black reg ODF 665.

I know he managed to trace it to somewhere in the Bristol/Frampton Cotterell area about ten years back, where I believe it was being restored. However, he never got to see the bike himself.

Therefore, I was wondering if anyone has a photo of the bike they could share - or perhaps the owner may even read the forum pages and could share a photo - as I know it would bring so much joy for him to see it again.

Yours in anticipation

Amy Bingham

Please find attached a photo of Dragonfly ODF 665 which was taken at the Bristol Cavalcade in 2009. The photo was kindly supplied by the club's Registrar

Also if you look on page 149 of Douglas The Complete Story there is a photo ODF 665 ridden by test rider Ted Breffit outside Eddie Withers showrooms in Norwood, South London.
