The bearings often come out with the crankshaft. If they remain in the crankcase halves then warming the cases is usually sufficient to allow them to drop out when tapped down firmlyonto a flat surface, preferable wood or something that is not going to damage the faces. In extreme cases it has been known to be necessary to drill a couple of small holes in line with the outer ring of the ball races so that a pin punch can be used to persuade their release. This should be a last resort and is not usually necessary. Chris.
