Mk Clutch
« on: 24 Aug 2009 at 06:58 »
Good morning all,
As I have some time on my hands have decided to deal with the whining thrust/clutch release bearing.
Upon removal I found the cork clutch to be in good condition and am in two minds whether to change it. The only freason for doing so is that its take up when pulling off is quite vivious to say the least. The Mk 3 was fitted with a traditionl type fibre clutch and make pulling away in traffic very easy.
Do you have any opinions on the matter?
As for the whining bearing, I shall just clean it out, maybe, if I find new ball bearings, replace otherwise just grease up.

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Alex
