Mk steering stem thread

Hi, does anyone know what the thread pitch/angle is for the fork stem on the Mk5 is? I'm hoping to recut it rather than replace the entire stem.

Hi Neil,
           The thread on the main stem is 1" x 20tpi. I think it should be Whitworth form (55 degree).
