Pinnion nut
« on: 03 Sep 2007 at 18:53 »
Hi...I am stripping out the engine of my 250 cc Comet to check out bearings, crank shaft etc. Removed timing cover, removed cams and shafts. But to split the crankcase I need to remove the pinnion at end of crankshaft..the one that drives cams and oil pump drive. There is lock nut/key shaft that holds on the pinnion ...the question is ...is this a left hand or right hand thread?

cheers

The nut/drive dog is a right-hand thread.
