Clutch springs..250 cc Comet
« on: 18 Aug 2007 at 16:15 »
About to have the flywheel off... I have removed the outer cover with 4 screws...and as I unscrewed the large chromed nut I could feel tension against the cover. Once off I found three springs which I take are the clutch springs. However...I note that there are six holes for springs.Am I correct in making the assumption I have three springs missing..??? Should there indeed be six springs.

Regards

Bill

Once again Doug..you have come to the rescue.

The sad thing is that the previous owner had spent a lot of money on an "engine refurbishment" by an engineer!!!! Looks like he had 3 springs lying around the workbench

Thanks for your help. E mail off to Chris LDMCC
