Dragonfly shocks front and rear
« on: 30 Apr 2022 at 08:01 »
Hi ,  I need to get the front and rear shocks for a 57 Dragonfly , as i don`t want to spend a fortune ( to many other parts to buy )
can anybody point me in the right direction for a company that can supply the correct ones ? or even another make /model  of bike
that i  could use the shocks from .
The bike was a barn find in bits so i don`t even have the old ones for reference.
Thanks Gary

Gary,
The original shocks on the Dragonfly were early series Girling units that had very soft damping. Later units have too much damping and ruin the smooth ride of the Dragonfly. The original front shocks were 13.9" long with 54 lb springs, and the rears were 12.9" long with the option of 100 or 110 lb springs (depending on the weight of the rider).

  Hope this helps,
                          Regards,
                                        Eddie.

HI Gary

Failing that try Hagon. They supplied the rear shocks for my Dragonfly and they also listed the front shocks as well.

That's a good price. By a rear mono suspension unit for some of the modern bikes you are looking at anything between £700 - £1000
