Tank fittings Wanted
« on: 28 Jan 2018 at 01:10 »
Hi Forum members,

Wondering if anyone would have a rough 1920's or Veteran tank laying around in unusable condition.
I need a doner Tank for the fittings only.
I recently tracked down a very rough Veteran Tank that looks to be 1912 ish due to the small diameter oil cap hole and the lack of a gear shifter hole. I'm trying to salvage it and convert it slightly to suit my recently purchased 1917 Douglas project.
The bottom was completely rusted out and both sides had large rust holes but Iv managed to solder some patches on the inside to hold it all together.
Thanks for looking, Glenn

Hi Glenn

If that is the original paint on the tank it is later than 1912, there would be 3 panels on the side if original. The lack of a gear change hole is a bit puzzling though for sure
