1930 Douglas T6

Dear All,

Can anybody help with the history of the motorcycle shown in the attached pictures?

A friend of my Father in laws has recently purchased it and they have asked me for help with its history.

I am expecting some pictures soon showing chassis numbers etc …. but for now this is all I have.

I don’t know the history, but it is an S6 or S5. The S models had footpegs instead of footboards but more importantly had the single spring girder fork assembly. T models had twin springs with them on the outside of the girders at the top links.

The engine number is EQ 2886
Which according to the club machine register is an E32 from 1932 .... is that an S6 then?

Looking at the “identifying Douglas models” page on this website it appears you have the D32 Greyhound. The E32 Ayredale and 750cc Mastif retained the twin spring girders whereas the 600cc sports Greyhound had the single spring front end. Does the bike have vertically located spark plugs or angled mounting?

It looks to have angled plugs.
