chain guard

Hello experts,
Is this chain guard original on some models, or is it more of a homemade?
It is probably a 1933 model.

Manfred,
              As far as I am aware, this fully enclosed chainguard is peculiar to the 1933 derivatives of the S6/T6 range.

Factory literature is pretty much non-existent for the 1933 models. The picture you show is one I took at the 1988 Bristol Cavalcade. I have seen the same rear chain guard on one other D33.  The two other D33s that I have seen had the standard Douglas (open) chain guard.

I don't have the Show editions of the Motor Cycle for the end of 1932 (1933 models), but in looking I did come across a two-page spread in the 20 Oct 1932 edition for the 250 transverse twin shaft-drive "Golden Star". https://www.douglasmotorcycles.net/index.php?topic=3956.0;nowap  That's one I'd not heard of; I thought "Endeavor" when I saw the illustration. As Doug stated in his post some years back, 1933 was a bad year for Douglas.

Nice chain guard though. Rare these days you'd think.

Since I have a 1933 engine and Gearbox and two wheels and small parts, I would like to build a 1933 model. I think the missing parts will be very difficult. the chain guard and the tank with panel are likely to be the biggest problem. Apparently, a normal chain guard would also be OK.
I am grateful for any offer of missing parts.
