EW600/E28 rear stand
« on: 10 Nov 2015 at 22:34 »
Hi folks, after having a repair done during a rally a few years ago my rear stand on the E28 is just about to give way. The repair unfortunately has made it very difficult to repair properly !

Does anyone have a good rear stand to suit that they would part with ?

We repaired the stand for the E28 again. However I just noticed that it's starting to crack again. With the Douglas Rally next weekend I am trying to work out what to do (other than fence posts). Has anyone fitted aside stand to an EW with foot boards ?

Hello Ian,
Went to the shed for a look at my 28 and 29 600s and yes I have fitted side stands on the engine tube just behind the foot board. Not sure where they originated from. Could be Ariel Bsa or Norton or even Japan bike. It involves welding the hinged section to the engine tube. I notice I dont even have the rear stand any more but just a 1/2 by 1/8 mudguard stay.
regards Alan
