Help on starting
« on: 30 Sep 2016 at 17:23 »
Trying to start the TS project and failing miserably. Suggestions please anyone?
Fuel is fine, was flooding a bit but we seem to have overcome it.
Spark is there, perhaps a bit weak and maybe I should get mag checked?
Compression seems good. I'm going to borrow a compression tester tomorrow and check it.
It just doesn't seem to want to start. Any ideas?

Stephen

Stephen,
Make sure the mag is timed up to fire on the correct cylinder. Take out the front HT pickup from the mag - turn the engine until the valves on the back cylinder are just rocking - look into the hole for the front HT pick up - you should be able to see the brass segment - if you can't, you probably have the mag timing 180 degrees out.

  Regards,
                Eddie.
