Douglas engine

I have just acquired a early Douglas engine but have no clue as to what sort of model I have found numbers (E01119) could anyone help me out to identify or how to identify this engine thanks

James,

EO is a prefix code for a 350cc Dirt track engine, c1929. That would make it quite unusual as by far most Dirt Track models were 500cc. Is it OHV?

If the prefix code is instead EQ, then it is a more commonly seen 500/600cc side-valve engine for the S5/S6/T6 models, late 1929 to 1933.

Thanks Doug it is an EQ number I also acquired a very early gbox with it don't know if it is Douglas or not G/T1145 if it rings any bells the engine is a side valve and I have two magnetos with looking to move it on to a new home but I have no idea what it's worth would you have any idea thanks

Were it EQ1950 I would make an offer as that is the original engine for my '32 Greyhound according to the log book. Otherwise I avoid doing valuations.

G/T does not sound like a Douglas gearbox prefix that I am familiar with. Prefix code listings can be found here:

I have acquired a Douglas motorbike without its engine.....did you get a buyer for your engine yet? What model is it?
