1914 2 3/4 Exhaust
« on: 17 Oct 2013 at 10:29 »
Can anyone help, I am looking for a swirl type exhaust  to complete the restoration of my 1914 Douglas 2 3/4, or someone who can fabricate a pattern item. I am based in Somerset UK.  Thanks, Richard

Richard,
You could try contacting Technical Tubes, Azura Close, Woolsbridge Ind Est, Three Legged Cross, Dorset. They used to offer a service where they would make up the pipes, then have your bike for a day to do the final tweaking and fit any brackets, etc. (They have moved premises in recent years, and I'm not sure whether they still offer this service). Obviously, they will need a pattern or a dimensioned drawing (They made the exhausts for my ISDT Douglas, using the old ones as patterns and they fitted perfectly, despite having a tortuous route up behind the gearchange and kickstart levers).
Hope this is of some help,
                        Regards,
                                      Eddie.

Thanks Eddie, I will give them a try, but I don't have a pattern to work from so I am still looking for someone who may have an original I can copy and is willing to let me use it.

Regards, Richard.
