Douglas 1917-18 gearbox
« on: 10 May 2012 at 06:35 »
Hi, I am new to the forum since Douglas motorcycles have been quite unfamiliar to me. Recently i bought a pile of Indianparts and this odd gearbox was enclosed. I was told that this would be a 2(?) speed gearbox 1917-18. Might be wrong but when I found this forum i thought this would be the place to get things right. It cranks and shifts ok. I have not taking it apart to check for wear.I am offering it for sale since it needs a better home. It would be nice if any of you Douglas guys would put it back on the road again. Offers welcome. Would also consider trading for Indianparts.

Please email me at: indianmc@zoomin.se

I am located in Sweden

Very nice forum by the way!

Mats,

From the setup of the Kickstarter and not knowing the number on the box but I would say your box belongs to a 1925 SW. That is an up market TS having a flywheel clutch and kickstarter. 99 percent sure?????????

Gearbox is now sold to Australia. A guy restoring a 1925 2 3/4 bought it.
