Eric,
The 1st model listed with all chain drive and drum brake (rear only) was the 1921 3½HP Sports. 1926 seems to be the 1st year that the drum brake was used on both wheels (EW, OC and TT models).

Some of the factory race team had the servo band drum brake in 1925. Available the following year on (some) catalog models. An example of racing improving the breed.
