Help with identifying my EW? frames
«

I have finally got hold of my three EW frames. I am wanting a little help with identification.
I have frame number MF 11432 which appears to be a 1926 EW and MF 2902, which assuming I have not missed any digits would be the same.
The problem on appears to be the most complete of the three frames. It appears identical with the other two frames in every dimension I can see, but it has only 4364 stamped. There is quite definitely no prefix to this number.
Can anyone help me please?

I have answered my own question. when I stood the frames side by side my son helped me identify that I was looking on the wrong side of the frame and the missing number is MF12309. I understand that to mean it is a 1927 EW350.
Thanks any way

Yes that is pretty much correct. You can also verify by the way the transmission mounts to the frame, which changed for the 1927 models. See the model identity tables here (if you have not already, as I suspect, done so) and scroll down to the EW350 model.

Thanks Doug,
I will have a closer look at the way the gear box mounts, although there is little to compare it to as the other two frames are incomplete.
And yes I had been looking at the tables.
I will start slowly acquiring parts now.

Just a further question. What are the differences between the gearbox to suit the EW350 and the EW600?

The 600EW frame tubes are 3.5" apart, and on the 1927 and later 350EW they are 3.25" apart. The mounting studs are a little closer together to suit. You can see the difference in the size of the mounting clamp plate in this post here:

The gearboxes look nearly identical and share quite a lot of part numbers like the entire lay shaft assembly, some of the main shaft gears, inner & outer cover, and nearly all of the smaller bits.

Thanks for your assistance. I am watching a gearbox on ebay. I just wanted to make sure I had as much info as possible when making a decision as to whether it is worth bidding.
The gearbox is a 600, and I have 350 frames. I have to weigh up whether grabbing it even if only for future swapping is worthwhile.
I doubt I will as I am trying to find parts for my cars as well.
